Why Get Ortho K Lenses?
Ortho K is the best way to restore sight without surgery or the inconvenience of traditional glasses and contacts. The technology has also been used very successfully with children, with the treatment of Myopia (short-sightedness). Ortho K lenses have been shown to slow down the rate at which myopia develops. This technology provides clear vision for longer, and can stop your child’s eyes from developing significant issues in the future. We recommend them for children 6 years and older.
A Simple Testing Procedure
When you come in for your appointment, the first step is to test your eyes. We conduct a comprehensive eye test to assess the health and condition of your eyes, establish your prescription, and work out exactly what you’re looking for.
From here, we measure your eyes using a specialised corneal topographer, mapping the surface and shape of your eye’s cornea with pinpoint precision. This map is what gets sent off to our laboratory to design and craft the lenses.
Lastly, after about two weeks your lenses will arrive, ready to use. Our Ortho K specialists will guide you through using and caring for the lenses to make sure you get the most out of them. Now you’re free to use them and experience clear vision every day.
