How to wear contact lenses

1. Wash your hands

Before you start, wash your hands with soap (preferably non-perfumed, anti-bacterial liquid soap), then rinse and dry your hands with a lint-free towel.

2. Check that the lens isn't inside out

To do this, just put the lens on the tip of your finger and hold it up to the light. If the edges flare out, it's inside out. Some lenses have a 1, 2, 3, indicator - make sure the digits aren’t backwards. It should look like a bowl with straight edges.

3. Open your eyes

Using your right hand, gently hold your upper eyelid with one finger so you don’t blink or get your eyelashes in the way, and carefully pull down your lower eyelid with your other fingers.

4, Slowly place the lenses

by moving the contact lens toward your eye steadily. Look upward as you place it on your eye, and slowly release your eyelid and close your eye for a moment to allow the lens to settle. Blink a few times. Repeat for your other eye.

Coloured Contact Lenses

Try something different by changing the colours of your eyes! Try our range of coloured contact lenses. Enhance your natural eye colour or go for a dramatic change with a wide range of other colour options available. Whether you’re just looking to change your look, or need contact lenses for cosplay or a costume, we can provide you with the coloured contacts you’re after.

Suffering Discomfort From Contact Lenses?

If you’re feeling any discomfort or pain, have watering or red eyes or notice anything else unusual while wearing contacts, take the lenses out immediately. If taking out your contacts does not fix the problem, it would be wise to seek medical assistance. Contact your optometrist for further advice or visit Accidents and Emergency if the problem is serious.

Non-Prescription and Prescription Contact Lenses

We stock both prescription and non-prescription contact lenses, allowing you to get the lenses that match your vision. If you know your prescription or have been fitted for contacts before, you can order via our website to get the contacts you need.

However, if you’ve never used contact lenses before, we highly recommend you book a contact lens consultation with one of our professional optometrists. If you have Medicare, you’re eligible for a comprehensive bulk billed eye test at Brazionis, where we can assess your eyes and provide you with the correct fitting contact lenses. Talk to our optometrists about getting fitted for contacts today.

How do I get started?

First, you need to book a Comprehensive Eye Test with one of our experienced optometrists to examine your eye health, measure your prescription and assess your suitability. We will then recommend contact lenses based on your lifestyle needs and preferences. After that, our friendly optometrists will guide you through the process of inserting contact lenses. We also show you how to clean and care for your contact lenses and provide easy step by step instructions.

We understand that inserting something into your eye can feel unnatural and scary, so if you’ve tried unsuccessfully before, give us the opportunity to make sure you get it right this time!
